First Haircut

Wowzers, I have LOTS of blogging to catch up on...it's going to take me awhile, so patience, young one. GG came for a visit as our Spring Breaks overlapped. We were very busy bees as we (she) touched up our downstairs bathroom to finish up the remodel (pics soon), cut out the shapes for Cassie & Brian's wedding favors and printed up all the invitations and response cards and directions for the wedding (took the better part of 2 days, I don't remember it taking Jim and I that long)! We kept JamesE home with us the morning she was planning on leaving (we wished she had stayed another day to play with him, it was fun having her) for his very first haircut!!! I finally gave in because his bangs were all up in his eyes and a trim was much needed -- the curls still haven't been touched in back though -- they're awesome (and drive Jimmy crazy, haha)!
Above :: the first cut
Below :: the whole process was made a bit more bearable with a binkie and a Baby Mozart DVD on for him to be distracted
His cowlick and the fact that she was cutting his hair from behind made it hard to get them even, but they've grown in nicely :-)
Finishing up his Nebulizer treatment later that night and waiting for his bath as he boogie-d down to Baby Mozart (that DVD mesmerizes him, it's crazy)

Activity Mat Fun Time

GG took Easton to the vet to get his "green" eye checked out -- ends up it's conjunctivitis like we get pink eye and all allergy related so he's on eye drops 3x/day for a week, omega pills and Benadryl both 2x/day until the first frost (HOLY COW that's forever)! Hey, if it keeps him off steroids this year, we'll try it and I'm sure he'll be happier not dive-bombing in to the ground to itch his eye or biting his leg off from the itching of his allergies!
When she got back from the vet, James was just finishing his "pre-dinner" meal and was actually awake, so she entertained him on his activity mat for a bit. He actually lasted almost 10 minutes before there were tears shed! I know he's supposed to be doing "tummy time" but he gets so mad w/ it bc he wants to see what's going on everywhere and just screams...his neck is getting really strong from holding it up on his own and checking out his world while he's being held and tummy time will get better with age, I'm sure. It was cool to watch James on the mat today, he was actually tracking some of the toys while we moved them for him -- he really liked the purple hippo that shakes and a dinosaur toy the neighbors got him that plays music :-) Here's a short video of James enjoying his time on the mat!

GGs Visit

GG came to visit this week to help me recover and get some QT with James. She's been a busy lady! She has been awesome -- laundry done, bathrooms cleaned, meals cooked, doctor's appts for both myself and James made (close to) on time :-)
Above: James checking out his world -- he gets SO ABSOLUTELY MAD at himself if he needs to take a nap -- he doesn't want to miss anything that could be happening in his world -- so much to learn, so little time!

Below: GG holding James one night as he FINALLY fell asleep -- he looks so peaceful; however, he was up screaming until 2am this night, little stinker ;-)

My doctor's appointment went well today. They just wanted to check out my incision and see how it was healing -- the midwife kept looking at it because she was so thrilled w/ how it was healing! She said "all incisions should look this good!" Jim did a most excellent job caring for the wound before I could actually do it myself -- he's the bestest! I think the fact that my body rejects the type of stitching they use (Vicryl) may have helped the incision site heal better bc they had to staple me up -- guess it was a big debate in the operating room what to do, but they went w/ staples because I may be talked into having more children sometime (in the very very far future). Other than that, a pretty uneventful appointment, just some good advice and things to watch out for in the next few weeks. Hopefully James and I are both done with dr. appts. until I go for my 6-week post-partum and he goes for his 2 month appt!
