I have to get really creative to get these James v. Teddy pictures now a days! James kept walking back and forth from the sun room to the family room, so I propped Teddy up on one of the toys and had the camera focused in to try and "capture the moment." It worked until he decided that it was fun to play with the fly swatter and the note card :-)Monday, April 26, 2010

Bathroom is Done
Above :: the downstairs bathroom has been finished for a couple of weeks now -- GG touched up the ceiling and the edges and Jimmy hung the shelving and picture back up. I really like how it turned out -- not bad for a spur of the moment re-model!Below :: just before GG was coming for her Spring Break, we had a huge storm go through that had hail pelting the house -- they were hitting the brick in the backyard and bouncing back halfway up the house! Needless to say, we have an adjuster coming out soon to check out the damages.

1-Year Pictures
I had a coupon for no sitting fee and a free 8x10 at Penney's, so over Spring Break, James got his 1 year pictures taken! He's so stinkin' cute (I'm only slightly biased, haha)! We had a great experience, just wish they weren't so darn expensive to order! The link and re-orders are open until July 2, 2010. If you want the link and access codes, just shoot me an email!Tuesday, April 20, 2010
First Haircut
Above :: the first cutBelow :: the whole process was made a bit more bearable with a binkie and a Baby Mozart DVD on for him to be distracted

Easter Egg Scramble

We woke James up for his 1st Easter Egg Hunt this morning only to drive (all 1.5 minutes) there and see absolutely NO ONE! Of course, the one closest to our house was the earliest and they didn't update their website like they said they would in case of inclimate weather -- so I woke the poor kid up earlier then he was ready. Oh well, we just came back home and I was able to feed him breakfast in his high chair instead of on the go and then it was time to go to the indoor Easter Egg Hunt (as Jimmy noted, it was more of a "Scramble" though because all the eggs were just thrown on the floor of a gymnasium :-) James did great -- he got 2 eggs all by himself! He was so excited he kept bashing them together like "more" as he waddled around the gym. He was even so nice to try and share them by putting them in another kid's basket (the mom gave them right back and James was on his way happy again). Then he went and got his picture taken with the (Creepster) Easter Bunny (I have always found Easter Bunnys to be extremely creepers) -- I had to hold him by the EB because he was standing and s/he couldn't hold a baby with those hands. Then we got to go order his 1-year pictures that we took yesterday -- Jimmy had to go back with me to a) help pic the free 8x10 pose we wanted and b) make sure I didn't spend too much $$ (got out of there for under $10 -- thank you coupon)!

How Quickly They Grow
** he cut his first 2 teeth
** phased out the bottle
** got on to all milk (no more making bottles, woo hoo)
** is on (mostly) all table food (although it's a daily struggle to figure out what to feed him since his dinner time is almost before Jim even gets home from work)!
That's a lot of changes for a momma to handle at once! Allergist update: he finished up his Z-pack to try and get rid of that pesky sinus infection and he's been getting Nebulizer treatments (one in the am and one before bed) and getting Singulair at night (you have no idea how picky they are with what you give them the Singulair granules in -- only 4 things work! Luckily he loves him some apple sauce :-)) Surprisingly, he tested negative for any allergies (I think they tested him for 8) - which is good, but also a mystery as to why he sounded so yucky since October -- maybe he just needed to cut those teeth and now his system is back in rhythm? He is sounding much better and his chest is definitely rattling much much less as he breaths :-)
